Marforth Showrooms was founded in 1958 to sell high-end furniture and design accessories on a wholesale basis. Clients include interior designers, architectural firms, fine hotels, space planners and corporate facilities managers.
John and Colleen Miller purchased Marforth in 1994 from the Lazarus Division of Federated Department Stores.
Marforth was originally located at the corner of Market Street and Fourth Street. The store moved to Seventh Street in the mid-1970's, and relocated again in late 1999 to its current location in Pittsburgh's Strip District.
Marforth underwent significant expansion in October 2001, adding specialty galleries and expanding space for its collection of fine furniture, fabrics and wallcoverings, and design accessories. Marforth also added its own receiving and delivery services. The Marforth Design Center currently occupies approximately 50,000 square feet of floor space.
